Museum of Contemporary Art
When the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles first opened, it wanted an identity that would stand out in the art world. We advised them to embrace the shorthand name MOCA and designed a logotype made up of the three most basic geometric forms of contemporary art—the square, the circle, and the triangle. The playful and memorable identity evokes contemporary art and design even as it pushes the boundaries of legibility.
